Homecoming was a great success with career panels featuring WFU Chemistry alumni and the always popular demo show. The full list of activities is below.
Friday September 20
3-4:30PM Career Event (Salem 2nd floor) – Alumni talk (individually or in small groups) with small groups of students for 10-15 minutes before student groups shift to other alumni – not unlike speed dating. Alum who would like to participate should contact Al Rives (’76) firstname.lastname@example.org.
4:30-7:30PM Party-So-Dear on the Magnolia Quad – This is a university-wide event featuring the Temptations. We will try to have a well-marked spot for Chemistry alums to stop in.
Saturday September 21
9:00-10AM Friends of Chemistry General Meeting (Salem Hall 202) FoC Chair, Elaine Dunavant, will recap the year’s activities and also announce the recipients of this year’s Young Alumni Award
10:00-10:45AM Deacon Demo show XII. (Winston 126) Faculty and students from Biology Chemistry and Physics will amaze and entertain you with science demonstrations with a Wake Forest twist. This is appropriate for all ages and even all majors. We may throw some barbs Elon’s way, so if you happen to bring any Phoenix fans with you, they may need to be good-spirited.
-until ~ noon Alumni Reception (Winston lobby) We’ll fill the Winston lobby with science alumni, family, friends, and faculty. Reconnect, have fun – it’s as simple as that.
during the reception – Tours of newly renovated Salem Hall. You won’t recognize the place (well, maybe a little…but only a little). Ask one of the faculty at the reception in Winston lobby – we’ll get get you taken care of.
