If you are an aspiring Chemistry (or any science) major or minor, or you simply take interest in the field, then ACS is a wonderful way to get involved on campus! In our chapter of the American Chemical Society, we provide opportunities to combine campus and community involvement with our love of Chemistry. Our membership consists of a wide variety of students ranging from future physicians, researchers, and chemical industrialists to those who are simply looking for a fun way to volunteer. We provide ample opportunity for leadership positions to our members, as well as a new mentorship program that connects our upperclassmen to our younger members for guidance through WFU’s science programs!
Some of our most notable volunteer opportunities include Project Pumpkin, Experiment Demos for elementary/middle school children, science tutoring services for younger children, among many others. In terms of leadership positions, members are encouraged to apply to be a part of our executive board or one of our multiple subcommittees!
Our organization normally meets twice a month to organize events, discuss internship/job opportunities in the field, and have a good time in a science setting. If you are interested in joining ACS, please feel free to contact either
- Nataya Disher (President)- firstname.lastname@example.org
- Jack Rigsbee (Secretary)- email@example.com
so that we can get you on the email/membership list for information on our activities!
Follow along with us on Instagram @acs_wfu for information on upcoming events and meetings as well.
