3-4:30PM Career Event (Wake Downtown) – The focus this year will be on careers associated with the new programs centered at Wake Downtown, Medicinal Chemistry, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and Engineering. While this is aimed at current students, alumni are welcome to come and chime in on the questions, or just take a tour of our new Downtown facilities.
4:30-7:30PM Party-So-Dear on the Magnolia Quad – This is a university-wide event featuring the 4 Tops. We will try to have a well-marked spot for Chemistry alums to stop in.
Saturday September 16
9:00-10AM Friends of Chemistry General Meeting (Winston Hall) FoC Chair, Bill Batten, will recap the year’s activities, and department Chair, Mark Welker, will report on Salem Hall’s renovation plan. We will also announce the recipients of this year’s Young Alumni Award. [The deadline for nominations in September 3; so, if you have a nominee in mind, go ahead and submit a nomination.]
10:00-10:45AM Deacon Demo show X. (Winston 126) Faculty and students from Biology chemistry and Physics will amaze and entertain you with science demonstrations with a Wake Forest twist. -until ~ noon Alumni Reception (Winston lobby) We’ll fill the Winston lobby with science alumni, family, friends, and faculty. Reconnect, have fun – it’s as simple as that.
10AM-1PM Tours of Wake Downtown. Get yourself Downtown (between 4th and 5th on Vine), and we’ll take care of showing you around.
