Junior Leo Liu, who plans to pursue a PhD in chemistry, conducted research under professor Wendu Ding, focusing on computational modeling and simulation of gold-catalyzed reactions, with applications in anticancer research. Liu expressed his excitement about chemistry and the endless possibilities of discovery in research.

Sophomore Dany Doughan worked with professor Elham Ghadiri, studying nanomaterials with biomedical and energy applications. Doughan analyzed the physical and chemical properties of films produced in the lab using spectroscopy and photoluminescence tests, gaining valuable experience and planning to continue in Ghadiri’s lab for future semesters.
