Junior undergraduate student Pierre Duncan, and Graduate student, Shiba Adhikari, represented Dr Lachgar’s Lab at the 2014 South Eastern Conference of the American Chemical Society held in Nashville, TN, 16-19 October. Pierre presented his work on a new green chemical synthesis to prepare solid catalysts used for the conversion of waste to advanced biofuels. Shiba presented his work related to composite photocatalysts for hydrogen generation from water splitting. During their trip, they visited Zach Hood (class of 2013) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Knoxville and downtown Nashville. Pierre compiled videos and pictures he took during the trip to make a short film of his experience.
